Biography

Dick recently retired after a career of more than 30 years at the University of Regina including 20 as Director of Interuniversity Athletics. Under his leadership the athletic program grew from six varsity sports to 16. The expansion added football in a unique community partnership agreement and addressed gender equity with the addition of women’s programs. White’s governance resulted in the U of R winning four Canadian Interuniversity Sport Championships.

Dick completed a Graduate Certificate program in Executive Coaching at Royal Roads University and is now a Certified Executive Coach.

During his career he provided sport leadership at every level serving as President of SaskSport, Canada West and CIS. Dick was the longest serving President of CIS, completing five terms in the role. In 2005 he served as Chef de Mission, Team Canada, at the FISU Winter Games. Dick’s contributions have been recognized with inductions into the City of Regina, University of Regina and Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame.
