HIGH PERFORMANCE MEANS BALANCE BEYOND SPORT

Game Plan Day in Canada is a one-day investment for a life of success.

In partnership with Deloitte, Game Plan Day in Canada is specifically designed to help athletes find balance and develop concrete skills for their future without sacrificing the need to focus on current goals.  It is built on the fact that a well-rounded athlete will perform better on the field of play.

From 8 a.m. through to 1:15 p.m. on June 5five Deloitte offices across the country (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal), will host up to 60 Olympic, Paralympic and national team athletes. The goal of the half day is to develop Athletes’ tangible workforce skills and expose them to the corporate culture of one of Canada’s most respected companies.

Athletes will have the opportunity to job shadow with a Deloitte employee from the service line of their preference (Tax, Audit, Consulting, Financial Advisory, or Marketing). They will then spend the rest of the morning honing interview skills in a mock session with a member from the Deloitte Talent Team and receive real-time interview feedback. Athletes will also have the chance to network with firm partners, and some of Deloitte’s most well-respected clients.

CEOs, HPDs, and coaches should know that research shows that active athletes who develop non-sport professional skills will maintain motivation, experience less burnout and have fewer distractions, which all leads to a longer and higher performing sport career.

Game Plan Day in Canada is an investment to grow the success of Canadian athletes on and off the field of play. As a leading sport nation, is that not the goal we are all chasing?
