Biography

My name is Stéphanie Durocher, I’m 36 years old, and now a mom to three young children. I’m a former Olympian, having competed at the London 2012 Games in artistic swimming. Sport has always been an essential part of my life. We try to instil a love of sport and personal growth in our children. We encourage them to try all kinds of sports so they can discover what they’re most passionate about. I’m involved in regional clubs, offering support and helping athletes refine their skills. I’m also active in my community, working to develop sport opportunities and improve municipal infrastructure related to aquatic sports in particular. I give talks in elementary schools to promote sport and healthy living. I’m passionate and deeply people-oriented. I believe in pushing past our limits and in using positive encouragement to support and develop young athletes.

Why do I want to be a member of the OLY Canada Commission?

To promote sport, the passion of doing what we love, and to support athletes in a variety of projects—whether at the national or international level. To be able to bring forward long-term development ideas and share my experience with others. To contribute to the growth of sport in general and help promote it among youth, through passion and education.
