2021 Game Plan Virtual Summit

Game Plan invites you to join our exclusive 2021 Virtual Summit: More Than Medals: Defining and discovering success during and beyond high-performance sport. Although we are sad we can’t celebrate all your accomplishments in person, Game Plan has custom designed this interactive event so you can build your own journey. The 2021 Game Plan Summit will take place virtually on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 11am EST- 7pm EST. We encourage you to pick and choose the sessions that spark your interest! A day full of fireside chats, inspiring keynotes and informative webinars designed to help foster success on and off the field of play. We have gathered a talented and diverse group of speakers and guests including: Perdita Felicien, Nikola Goncin, Anastasia Bucsis, industry experts, and many others. We hope they will inspire you to think about what success means to you. This will also be a fantastic opportunity to spend some virtual time with your Team Canada peers.

YouToi2.0 with Game Plan

YouToi2.0 Virtual Edition is designed to support you, one of Canada’s Olympic, Paralympic, or national team athletes, through your transition to life after sport.  Whether you retired five years ago or have just moved away from sport, YouToi2.0‘s Virtual Edition will help you understand and move forward in your transition. The virtual workshop is 4-days (November 8, 10, 15 and 17, 2021 from 6-8:30pm EST), followed by 6 months of monthly check-in calls.

Career Exploration Series

Game Plan’s career series is a 4-week online series constructed to help you with the beginning stages of career exploration. Led by two Game Plan Advisors, Sophie Brassard and Sarah Kiengersky, this series will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn about career planning with facilitators who have an in-depth understanding of the nuances of high performance sport. Exploring this while actively pursuing your national team career will help set you up for success in the beginning stages of creating a career plan. Register by October 15th!

AthletesCAN Forum

The 2021 AthletesCAN Forum will be hosted virtually from October 23rd-24th, 2021. This annual event is the largest and most inclusive gathering of Canada’s national team athlete representatives outside of competition. It brings together Canada’s high-performance athletes and sport leaders to learn about the sport system, develop leadership skills, share ideas and network through interactive workshops, seminars and presentations. The 2021 AthletesCAN Forum will feature some of the country’s top sport leaders discussing crucial topics currently impacting the Canadian sport landscape. Sessions in this year’s program will cover topics including safe sport, diversity equity inclusion, mental health, and athlete funding. Forum will be delivered virtually, with complimentary registration for all AthletesCAN members and sport system leaders. Athlete365 Career+ Power Up Online Workshops 

Athlete365 Career+ is offering free online workshops to assist Olympians looking to transition to a post-sport career following Tokyo 2020. With many of you currently looking to take your career to the next level, the Athlete365 Career+ Power Up workshops can help guide you in your journey to a successful career transition. Since its launch in 2020 over 1,000 Olympians and athletes have attended the online workshops – watch this video to find out what they have to say. Tailored to Olympians, elite athletes and entourage and delivered in six languages, the next Power Up workshops will be held at the end of August [French], September [English], October [Russian] and November/December [Arabic]. Check the calendar, choose your preferred language, and register here


International Sports Management Scholarship Application

Partly funded scholarships worth up to $1,250 each are available to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in International Sports Management from UK’s University of London. Starting in February 2022, the successful applicants will be able to complete the program between one and five years. Apply now to build your business skills with EY’s Women’s Network

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? The EY Women Athletes Business Network is seeking female Olympians with outstanding leadership potential to join the 2022 Global Mentoring Program. Running over a 10-month period from January through November 2022, you will expand your network with business leaders, entrepreneurs, and other elite athletes and participate in a series of one-to-one and online group sessions. Participants must be comfortable to read, write and speak in English. If you are an ambitious female Olympian or know of one, applications must be submitted here by 31 October 2021.
