Field Hockey / Hockey sur gazon

Biography

I had the privilege of representing Canada over a 15-year career as a goalkeeper for the Men’s Field Hockey Team – competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (and part of the 2016 Rio Olympic team as a travelling reserve – P Accreditation), as well as multiple major tournaments including Pan American Games, Commonwealth Games, and FIH World Cups. I owe much of my success outside of sport to this incredible chapter of my life and credit my time as a Team Canada athlete with shaping who I am today. During the final years of my athletic career, my wife and I welcomed two incredible children, giving me the privilege – and challenge – of balancing high-performance sport with family and professional responsibilities. Since stepping away from competition, I have transitioned into entrepreneurship, leading the operations across several different companies – most recently co-founding Clearwater Wellness Co., where I currently serve as Chief Operating Officer. I hold an MBA from Cornell University and Queen’s University (thanks to Gameplan!), and a degree in Kinesiology from UBC. I am currently based in Vancouver, and try to remain actively involved in a mentorship capacity, particularly supporting those beginning to explore life after sport.

Why do I want to be a member of the OLY Canada Commission?

After spending the last few years more focused on family life and business, I have found myself missing the connection to the athlete community that played such a massive and impactful role in my life. I’m truly excited about the opportunity to serve on the OLY Canada Commission because I care deeply about the athlete experience, both during and after sport. Having competed at the highest level for over a decade, I know how powerful the Olympic journey can be, but also how challenging the transition out of competition often is as well. I’m particularly passionate about creating space for connection, shared experience, and long-term support among Olympians, and I believe the strength of our community lies not just in what we accomplished on the field, but how we continue to uplift and remain connected to one another beyond it.
