Biography

I’m a born and raised Calgarian and pride myself on Albertan values, which I believe are hard work, dedication and perseverance. Since finishing my career as an athlete I have become a commercial helicopter pilot, professional geologist, father of three and I continue to be involved in sport and outdoor recreation as a coach and instructor in both alpine skiing and sailing. I continue to challenge and test myself to become the best I can be, but most importantly experience the world in it’s entirety.

Why do I want to be a member of the OLY Canada Commission?

As I age I am becoming increasingly interested and drawn to the “human condition”. In each endeavour that I have engaged in, it’s the people involved that make the difference, not so much my effort and whatever success or failure that may bring. I have become increasingly intrigued with human psychology and see the world more through a cause and effect of emotions, rather than a cause and effect of effort. I feel that most Olympians have an internal drive that can be a blessing and a curse and I would like to use my position with the COC to relate those experiences to benefit all, and provide perspectives from the athlete and non-athlete perspective.
