Biography
Martin Glynn is a Lake Placid 1980 Olympian, educator, publisher, innovator, and lifelong advocate for athlete empowerment. He served on the Olympic Mission Team in Atlanta in 1996 and has led initiatives with the Canadian Olympic Committee, UNICEF Olympic Aid, and the International Olympic Academy. A certified language instructor and founder of The Olympian Way, he has recently combined his passion for learning with technology, teaching himself Python to develop the E-App. This AI tool could support Olympians in underserved communities. Martin is deeply committed to building tools, mentorships, and movements that carry Olympism far beyond competition. I understand competition to be the same root from the Latin as “conspire together” to mutually improve.
Why do I want to be a member of the OLY Canada Commission?
I want to serve on the OLY Canada Commission to help shape a future where Olympians continue to lead, educate, and inspire long after competition. Olympism doesn’t end at the podium…it evolves into lifelong contribution. As a Lake Placid 1980 Olympian and member of the Olympic Mission Team in Atlanta 1996, I’ve spent decades creating tools and platforms that uplift others: from founding The Olympian Way© to serving on several boards, including Fondation André Viger, Bobsleigh Canada and most recently, as a presenter for the local Wisdom Exchange program: I have recently combined my passion for learning with technology, teaching myself Python to develop the E-App, an AI tool that supports Olympians in underserved communities. I am deeply committed to building tools, mentorships, and movements that carry Olympism far beyond competition. My passion was ignited by mentors like Coach Andy Higgins, Charles Poliquin, and Professor Bruce Kidd ~leaders who believed in the transformative power of education, discipline, and inclusion. Inspired by their legacy, I’m ready to represent Olympians across Canada and beyond and to ensure that every voice, especially those less heard, has access, mentorship, and opportunity. I bring experience, vision, and the will to serve.
