OLY Canada Commission Election
The OLY Canada Commission, consisting of both elected and appointed members, exists to represent the voice of current and aspiring Olympians and Pan American Games athletes, both active and retired. The Commission works together to provide their perspective in crucial areas such as athlete rights, safe sport policies, and Olympic Team selection policies.

The Commission currently has three (3) vacancies to fill and we want to hear who you want to represent your voice by voting in our online election running from June 15 to June 29 at 5:00 PM EDT. You will receive an email from SimplyVoting with instructions to cast your ballot.
There are 14 candidates on the ballot, and the election ensures representation across generations of Olympians. At least one (1) position will be filled by an athlete who retired within the past 10 years, and at least one (1) by an athlete who retired more than 10 years ago.

Team Canada Takes Bold Steps with First Climate Action Plan
As climate change increasingly impacts athletes and their training environments, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) recognizes the urgent need to act. We are proud to unveil our first-ever Climate Action Plan.

This plan reflects our deep commitment not only to the athletes but to the entire Canadian sport system. Our goals are ambitious: to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and reach net zero emissions by 2040. These targets are not just numbers; they represent a pledge to incorporate sustainability into every aspect of our operations.
Beyond internal changes, the COC aims to empower the entire sport community across Canada to become active participants in climate action. Together, we are taking meaningful action to protect our planet — for athletes, for communities, and for the generations to come.

Team Canada Athletes and Legacy Olympians Giving Back Through Sport
On May 8th, the Canadian Olympic Committee announced the 10 impactful, Olympian-led projects who received the OLY Canada Legacy Grant, now in its sixth edition. The grant is designed to foster ethical, safe podium dreams, empower positive, healthy play, and support a sustainable planet.
The COC has awarded a total of $100,000 across 10 Olympian-led not-for-profit initiatives, each of which focuses on access to sport, safe sport, or sustainability. This brings the total funding that the grant has provided since its inception in 2019 to nearly half a million dollars.
