Pride 2020 Update
We know this is a difficult time for many of you, and that pride celebrations are something we all look forward to year after year. However, the health and safety of the Olympic family and the world community is and always will be our primary and paramount mission. Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, as of right now, the Canadian Olympic Committee will not be participating in Pride Parades in-person this year. Please know that this was not an easy decision but we feel is the responsible approach in light of the current pandemic. We will continue to support the LGBTQI2S movement and our partners in this space.
That being said, we are still registered and like many organizations, we are uncertain what the future holds as the pandemic changes daily. We will continue to monitor the situation and should we be able to participate, we will do our best to plan some activities and invite our staff and athletes to join. We will also be working on several digital activations in an effort to find ways to make sure we can all celebrate Pride in the ways that are most meaningful to all of you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out directly to Alicia Renaud at arenaud@olympic.ca.
