The Canadian Olympic Committee is in the process of developing and launching an advocacy campaign to increase sport funding from the Government of Canada.
This initiative targets the 2020 federal budget slated to be announced in March/April 2020 – with focused public affairs efforts starting immediately.
Our objective is to establish connections with Members of Parliament that will help inspire a further investment in sport from coast to coast to coast. As Olympians, you are in the unique position to share your journey through the sport system, and the critical support you received along the way. Your voice and personal stories can send a powerful message to highlight the importance of a new investment in sport from the Government of Canada.
We are looking to have Team Canada athletes directly involved in this campaign. We understand that your time is valuable. We understand that your time is valuable. Specific roles for athletes will take into account professional and personal schedules. Depending on your schedule and preference, your involvement can range from digital outreach or community outreach through attending local sporting events or town halls.
