These Games-time volunteer opportunities are about more than just being involved; they will empower you to activate the wisdom, experience and compassion that come with being a Team Canada athlete in real-time, with real influence in a real way. An Update from the BC2030 Feasibility Team
Thank you for your continued interest to engage with the BC2030 Feasibility Team as we continue to work under the leadership of the Líl̓wat (Lil’wat), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, to determine the feasibility of moving forward with a potential bid to bring the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games back to Canada. In an effort to keep you informed on our progress, we are pleased to share a first edition of a Games Engagement newsletter.

COC joining Abuse-Free Sport
The Canadian Olympic Committee is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement to join Abuse-Free Sport, the new independent program to prevent and address maltreatment in sport. The COC, and its stakeholders, will have access to the services of the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC), which serves as the central hub of Abuse-Free Sport, following a transition period which will end no later than December 21, 2022. Game Plan’s Career Exploration Series
Game Plan’s career series is a 4-week online series constructed to help you with the beginning stages of career exploration. Led by two Game Plan Advisors, Sophie Brassard and Sarah Kiengersky, this series will provide you with a unique opportunity to learn about career planning with facilitators who have an in-depth understanding of the nuances of high performance sport. Exploring this while actively pursuing your national team career will help set you up for success in the beginning stages of creating a career plan. Sign-up here!
Game Plan + Smith Networking Event

Smith and Game Plan would like to invite you to an in-person networking event on Thursday, October 13th at the Smith Toronto facility, located in the heart of Canada’s financial centre, accessible by GO, subway and the PATH system.

IOC Young Leaders Program
The IOC Young Leaders Program is delivered over four years to give participants sufficient time to go through the phases of developing a social business/project that provides a localized sport-based solution to a pressing challenge in their respective communities.
Each year of the program is designed around the development of the young leader and their sport-based social business/project. Overall, the learning journey encompasses a wide range of subjects and experts, in areas such as human centred-design, prototyping, ecosystem mapping, leadership skills, customer segmentation, public relations, fundraising, impact measurement, user research, user testing, digital communications and finance.
