OLY

To our Team Canada family,

The past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions, to say the least. We wish there were words to say or actions we could take to make everything better right now. We wanted to take the time today to check in – OLY to OLY.

To those currently training for Tokyo or for Beijing, our hearts and thoughts are with you. We cannot imagine the strain this has put both your physical and mental preparation. What we can relate to is your effort and dedication to a dream. Take this time to focus on what is most important – your health and the health of your loved ones. The red maple leaf will feel that much better worn across your chest next time you step on the field of play, knowing the challenges you battled to get there. That dream lives on, so keep your flame ignited.

To ALL members of Team Canada, whether you have been retired for years or are still pursuing your sport – thank you. You have the ability right now to be true leaders in your community, and make your voice heard across the country. From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate you and we are inspired by you. Most importantly, we are here for you if you would like someone to talk to, or someone to simply listen. If you have questions or concerns, we would love to try and address them as best we can.

These are incredibly difficult times, but the strength of Team Canada is remarkable. No one can predict what tomorrow brings, the only thing we do know for sure is that we have each other and we will weather this storm as one. We are all Team Canada, 37 million strong. We will conquer tomorrow together, but we are part of something bigger today. And, when the time comes, we will rise again.

With pride & positivity,

Sandra Sassine, OLY & Brittany MacLean, OLY
